Mechanisms Engineering Manager
We're looking for a Mechanisms Engineering Manager to lead and develop our mechanisms engineering capability, combining technical leadership, people development and strategic engineering with hands-on problem-solving.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and develop mechanisms engineering teams, supporting technical excellence and professional growth.
- Oversee work package delivery, engineering performance, technical risks and resource planning.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering Leads and Mechanisms Experts to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
- Develop the mechanisms capability roadmap and identify future product development and skills requirements.
- Support the investigation and debugging of complex electro-mechanical hardware issues when required.

What we're looking for
Experience
- A successful track record in spacecraft engineering or another high-reliability engineering sector, ideally involving electro-mechanical or mechanisms-based systems.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving issues across hardware, component interfaces, software interactions and firmware, particularly within electro-mechanical assemblies or mechanisms.
- A mechanical design background, including experience with stress-critical components, precision tolerancing and drafting, materials selection and manufacturing methods.

Knowledge & Skills
- Proven management and leadership skills.
- Strong technical understanding within your engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of mechanisms and mechanism components, such as bearings, actuators, transmissions and feedback devices, and their role within the wider system.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, creative and highly detail-oriented.
- A strong commitment to delivery and engineering quality.
- A collaborative approach, with a genuine desire to support, guide and develop others.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar, ANSYS, MATLAB and Microsoft Office would be advantageous.
