Mechatronics Engineer
Location: Warwickshire

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and hands-on Mechatronics Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting the development, integration, verification, and validation of complex engineering systems.
The successful candidate will work across the Systems Engineering lifecycle, helping to define requirements, develop system architectures, document interfaces, and build verification and validation rigs to support formal testing, approval, and sign-off.
This is a varied role requiring someone who can combine strong technical knowledge with practical engineering capability, while working effectively across multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support verification and validation rigs for formal testing, approval, and sign-off.
- Support the development of system architectures and network communication architectures.
- Define, manage, and document system requirements and interfaces.
- Use SysML and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles to support system development.
- Utilise MATLAB/Simulink for modelling, analysis, and system development.
- Support the integration and testing of complex mechatronic and engineering systems.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across multiple functional commodities.
- Develop appropriate test strategies and support system acceptance activities.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, requirements, and interface specifications.
- Work collaboratively with engineers across mechanical, electrical, software, and systems disciplines.
- Communicate complex engineering principles and technical issues to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Challenge existing engineering approaches constructively and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Contribute across the wider Systems Engineering lifecycle, taking a flexible and hands-on approach to engineering activities.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or another STEM subject.
- Practical experience building verification and validation rigs for formal approval or sign-off.
- Knowledge and practical experience of SysML and MATLAB/Simulink within an MBSE environment.
- Experience with network architecture and communication networks.
- Strong understanding of requirements definition, management, and traceability.
- Experience producing and managing system/interface documentation.
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical subjects clearly.
- A proactive and positive approach, with a willingness to get involved across different areas of Systems Engineering.
- Ability to challenge existing thinking positively while building strong relationships and credibility with stakeholders.

Desirable Experience
- Degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience analysing complex technical problems and developing pragmatic engineering solutions.
- Experience managing multiple relationships within complex stakeholder environments.
- Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, TRM, and CATIA Magic System of Systems Architect (MSOSA).
- Previous experience within the automotive industry.
- Experience working with safety-critical systems, particularly within automotive.
- Knowledge of Cucumber, Gherkin, and GitLab.
- Experience working within a structured Systems Engineering or MBSE environment.
