Mechanical Engineering Expert

Help shape the future of AI by designing realistic mechanical engineering tasks that challenge advanced AI agents.

Location: Remote
Type: Contract / Part-time
Commitment: 20 hours/week
Compensation: US$30–60/hour
Project duration: 2 months, with potential extension
Availability: Immediate start

About the role

At Anyone AI, we create high-quality training and evaluation data for frontier AI models. We're looking for Mechanical Engineering Experts with practical experience in CAD modeling, mechanical design, manufacturing processes, engineering simulations, and technical documentation.

You'll develop and validate realistic engineering tasks that assess whether AI agents can interpret technical specifications, design mechanical components, perform calculations, analyze simulation results, and complete professional engineering workflows. Your expertise will help establish reliable reference solutions and meaningful evaluation criteria.

What you'll do

  • Design realistic mechanical engineering tasks based on product development, manufacturing, and industrial engineering workflows.
  • Create and review 2D technical drawings, 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering specifications.
  • Develop tasks involving mechanical design, materials selection, tolerance analysis, and component optimization.
  • Prepare and validate engineering calculations, including stress, strain, forces, thermal behavior, and mechanical performance.
  • Work with simulation outputs such as finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), or manufacturing simulations.
  • Identify design inconsistencies, incorrect assumptions, manufacturing constraints, and potential engineering failures.
  • Create reference solutions with traceable calculations, technical explanations, and clearly justified assumptions.
  • Review AI-generated engineering outputs for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical contributors to establish reproducible tasks and objective evaluation criteria.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
