Purpose of the Role

A membership organisation operating within a regulated sector is seeking a Media & Campaigns Manager to help lead on media relations and communications.

  • The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping and delivering strategic communications activity, working across teams to ensure our client’s messaging is heard in a crowded market.
  • The role combines hands-on press office delivery with proactive campaign development and relationship-building across national, regional, and trade media.
  • This is a high-profile role working closely with senior leadership, with responsibility for coordinating a small press function and helping to build new and maintain current relationships with journalists and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day media relations activity, including responding to press enquiries, drafting statements, arranging interviews, and preparing senior spokespeople.
  • Build on work already done to improve quantity and quality of media contacts relevant to the organisation’s work.
  • Identify opportunities to secure positive coverage and raise organisational profile, generating media opportunities, editorial content, and thought leadership activity aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Coordinate and support a small press team, ensuring effective delivery of reactive and proactive communications activity.
  • Draft and edit press releases, briefing materials, comment pieces, Q&As, articles, and wider external communications content.
  • Support communications planning across integrated campaigns, working closely with colleagues across policy, public affairs, and events functions.
  • Provide communications and media advice to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, external partners, and the organisation’s members, including support during sensitive or high-profile issues.
  • Monitor media coverage, trends, and stakeholder sentiment, providing analysis and insight to support strategic communications planning.
  • Support delivery of social media and digital communications activity, helping to create engaging content and monitor performance across channels.
  • Contribute to speeches, newsletters, publications, and wider organisational communications activity where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
