Volunteer Media Assistant / Club Journalist
About the Role
Barton Rovers Football Club is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Volunteer Media Assistant / Club Journalist to join our growing media team.
Working closely with the Head of Media, you will play an important role in producing engaging content across the club's digital platforms, helping to tell the stories of our players, staff and supporters throughout the season.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to gain hands-on experience in football media and sports journalism within a semi-professional football club.
Key Responsibilities
- Write engaging match previews, match reports and feature articles.
- Produce content for the club website and social media channels.
- Assist with live matchday coverage.
- Help capture behind-the-scenes content on matchdays.
- Support the planning and delivery of the club's media output.
- Ensure written content is accurate, engaging and published promptly.
- Represent Barton Rovers professionally at all times.

About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a passion for football and sports media.
- Has good written English and strong communication skills.
- Is organised, reliable and able to meet deadlines.
- Is confident speaking with players and club staff.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Is available for most home matchdays, with occasional away fixtures if possible. Previous experience in journalism, media or content creation is welcomed but not essential.
