Mediaplus Connect
Mediaplus Connect is part of Mediaplus UK, the UK's only media agency built on the principles of behavioural science. Founded in 1982 with a deliberate mission to shake up a network-dominated industry, we are still proudly independent more than 40 years later, with over 160 people across London, Manchester, and Birmingham. Here in Birmingham, Mediaplus Connect is a small, close-knit team, the kind of place where you know everyone, decisions get made quickly, and your work has a visible impact from day one.
But small does not mean limited. Alongside Mediaplus UK, we sit within House of Communication UK, an integrated group bringing together media, creative, social, platform, and behavioural science, backed by Serviceplan Group's global network across 23 countries. That means you get the feel of a boutique agency with the resource, tools, and expertise of something much bigger behind you.
We cover the full spectrum of media planning and buying, from client leadership and channel planning to programmatic, SEO, data, and influencer marketing. We also have teams dedicated to DE&I, wellbeing, sustainability, and culture, because we think the way an agency treats its people is directly connected to the quality of work it produces.
The Role
Mediaplus Connect are looking for a Media Assistant to join our Birmingham team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to start their career in media planning and buying within a fast-paced agency environment.
As a Media Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the wider team across campaign planning, activation, administration and reporting.
You will work closely with colleagues across the agency, learning how campaigns are planned, booked, monitored and evaluated across a wide range of media channels. Alongside developing your technical knowledge, you will gain exposure to client work, media owners and agency processes, building a strong foundation for a future career in media.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
