Grade UE03: £24,729 - £25,804 per annum, pro rata

Part-time: 7 hours per week

The University of Edinburgh is a world-class organisation. We are a large University covering a wide range of activities. In Professional Services, we support the University’s research and teaching, offering many career and role specialisms.
We are looking for students from varied areas of study and interests to join our diverse team of intern Media Caption Editors. We work on videos and lecture recordings across the entire University to improve accessibility for students, general audiences, and assist teaching colleagues and staff who create media content. Our ideal candidates have excellent English language skills, impeccable attention to detail, good IT literacy and can bring expertise in an assortment of subject areas. Daily duties include reviewing media captioning accuracy, but may involve data entry and records keeping, as well as other short-term projects in collaboration with colleagues across Information Services and colleges.

This post is part-time (7 hours per week); however, we are open to considering 15 hours part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.

We provide a wide range of technology and support services for innovative learning and teaching, including classroom tools, virtual learning environment (VLE), blended learning, bespoke development, online video, open educational resources (OER), taught online Masters programmes, massive open online courses (MOOCs), feedback and assessment. We manage the continuing expansion and diversification of the University website, student portal, and provide digital technology services in 400 teaching rooms and study spaces across the campus.
Every year we host student internships, projects and events which promote innovation and align with the University strategic aims to promote new ways of working in learning, teaching and research.
