Role/ Team overview

Sky Media is the advertising sales arm of Sky, offering businesses of all shapes and sizes an exciting array of opportunities on TV, online and on the go. Reaching over 95% of the UK population, Sky Media represents all of Sky’s channels and sites including Sky Sports, Sky News, Sky One, Sky Cinema, Sky Arts, Sky Atlantic and Sky Witness. Sky Media also sells on behalf of a range of renowned broadcasters and channels including Channel 5, Discovery, National Geographic, MTV, FOX, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.

As Media Effectiveness Lead, you will sit at the center of how Sky makes its media investment decisions, balancing insight and strategic thinking to shape where and how we invest.

Reporting into the Head of Media Effectiveness, you will act as the central coordination point for media investment decisions, bringing together inputs from across econometrics, testing, digital performance, media planning, marketing strategy and agency partners into a single, coherent view. You will be responsible for translating complex, and often conflicting, evidence into clear, commercially grounded recommendations - balancing data, context and real-world constraints to drive better decisions.

Within the newly established Media Effectiveness team, this role is critical in improving the speed, clarity and confidence of media decision-making across Sky, ensuring that learning is consistently applied to where and how we invest.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the central coordination point for media investment decisions, owning annual, quarterly and in-year planning by integrating all relevant inputs into a single, coherent view and developing clear, commercially grounded recommendations
  • Balance insight with strategic thinking, combining data-driven inputs with commercial judgement to define clear investment choices, trade-offs and priorities
  • Drive the transformation of Media Effectiveness processes and operating model, embedding a more integrated, collaborative approach across Marketing, Media Planning, Marketing Strategy, Measurement, Econometrics, Digital and Publicis
  • Own the annual and quarterly cross-portfolio budget allocation process, bringing together inputs such as econometric optimisation, digital performance opportunities, test & learn outcomes, strategic priorities and media planning & investment considerations to form a single recommendation on budget allocation and investment decisions
  • Turn Media Effectiveness outputs into clear, actionable guidance for Media and Marketing Strategy teams, ensuring insight consistently informs campaign design and planning
  • Own the executive narrative and application of learning, translating complex inputs into decision-ready outputs, driving alignment across Marketing, Planning and Publicis and embedding learning into planning, optimisation and longer-term strategy

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
