Media & Marketing Manager

Newport County AFC is looking for a Media & Marketing Manager to lead and manage the club’s media and marketing function. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the postholder will own the club’s brand direction, tone of voice and overall content output across digital and matchday channels, ensuring a consistent, professional identity at every supporter touchpoint.

The role combines creative leadership with commercial delivery: alongside running the media team and matchday media operations, the Media & Marketing Manager plays a central role in fulfilling the club’s partnership and sponsorship commitments and in helping the commercial department grow revenue through the club’s media, digital and matchday inventory.

Key responsibilities

Leadership, brand & tone of voice

  • Lead and manage the media team, setting the direction for Newport County’s branding, messaging and tone of voice.
  • Ensure the club’s brand identity and tone of voice remain consistent across all communications and supporter touchpoints.
  • Maintain and regularly update the club’s media and marketing plan, ensuring all key content, campaigns, communications and contractual requirements are delivered by the team.
  • Act as the final approval point for press releases, editorial content and wider written communications.

Content & communications

  • Oversee the creation, publication, monitoring and updating of all website and social media content.
  • Plan and deliver campaigns and content series that build reach, engagement and supporter connection across the club’s channels.
  • Work collaboratively with the CEO, ticket office and first-team staff to ensure content requirements and expectations are met across the club.

Matchday media operations

  • Lead all media and marketing operations on home matchdays, ensuring LED perimeter advertising, big-screen content and stadium screens are prepared and updated for each fixture.
  • Produce and manage the matchday running order, ensuring timings, announcements and scripts meet the requirements of each fixture.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, partners, matchday staff and external suppliers to ensure the smooth delivery of all matchday activity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Partnership & sponsorship management

  • Work closely with the commercial department to ensure all partnership and sponsorship agreements are fulfilled across digital, media and matchday activity.
  • Own the delivery and tracking of partners’ contractual assets — including LED and perimeter advertising minutes, big-screen and social media features, matchday announcements, website presence and programme content — ensuring every commitment is met to schedule.
  • Act as a key contact for partners on media and matchday deliverables, building strong, professional relationships that support retention and renewal.
  • Maintain a partnership fulfilment schedule / deliverables tracker and provide partners with proof of delivery and end-of-season activation reports.
  • Coordinate new-partner announcements, reveals and activations, gathering assets and producing launch content in partnership with the commercial team.
  • Proactively flag any under-delivered or at-risk contractual assets to the commercial department so they can be resolved before they affect the partner relationship.

Commercial support & growth

  • Identify and surface new commercial opportunities from the club’s media, digital and matchday inventory (for example LED packages, content sponsorships, matchday features and digital campaigns) and share these with the commercial team.
  • Support the commercial department with sales collateral, partnership decks, mock-ups and pitch materials that showcase the club’s reach and assets.
  • Help grow the club’s audience, engagement and data capture across digital channels to increase the value of its commercial inventory.
  • Support partner renewals and upsell by demonstrating return on investment through clear reporting and activation summaries.

Key relationships & external partners

  • Manage key external relationships with website provider Other Media, streaming partner Stream AMG and iStadia.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including the CEO, commercial department, ticket office and first-team staff.
