As a mission-led organization, Four Square Partners CIC aims to create clear communication around housing affordability, public services, and policy changes.

Creative volunteer team members collaborate in a flexible, largely remote environment, using digital tools to reach diverse audiences and stakeholders.

Role Description

The Media Manager - Volunteer / Housing & Government Copy Writer is a part-time, remote role responsible for managing media content and creating clear, accessible copy about housing policy and government-related initiatives.

Day-to-day tasks include drafting and editing media articles, web pages, social media posts, newsletters, and informational materials that explain housing solutions, government schemes, and community services.

The Media Manager will maintain a consistent tone across channels, schedule and monitor content, respond to inquiries, and adapt messaging for different audiences, including volunteers, service users, and public sector contacts.

The position may also support basic media planning, press releases, and reports that communicate impact and outcomes to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce clear, structured, and accessible copy for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in media or communications management, including printed media, social media, web content, newsletters, or press materials.
  • Ability to research and interpret information related to housing, government schemes, or public services, and translate it into user-friendly content.
  • Comfort working with digital tools and platforms (e.g., content management systems, social media scheduling tools, collaborative document platforms).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a part-time, remote setting.
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills, including the ability to work with volunteers, community partners, and public sector contacts.
  • Understanding of or interest in social impact, housing support, community services, or nonprofit/public sector work.
  • Relevant experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field; formal education in these areas is beneficial but not mandatory.
