Is this role for you?
Our Media Planning team manages Paramount UK & Ireland's owned promotional airtime, speaking to audiences in the most effective and targeted way possible, across all channels and platforms. We work closely with our Programming, Scheduling, Marketing, Creative, Streaming, Research and Commercial teams to drive ratings and revenue, showcase the breadth of our content, and strengthen brand perception.
In this role, you'll take ownership of the planning, implementation and analysis of highly audience-focused, creative, effective promotional campaigns across one of the Paramount UK Network of channels.
What you will be doing?
- Implement the on-air media planning strategy across at least one of the Paramount UK Network of channels, including navigation planning
- Plan and deliver optimal promotional campaigns in What's On, hitting comms targets and tonal flow across all host channel and cross-promotional messages
- Use the TE Optimizer tool to accurately quantify promo supply and manage promotional demand, maximizing optimizer output
- Partner closely with Programming, Scheduling, Marketing, Creative, Research & Insight to pinpoint host and cross-channel priorities and shape effective, creative on-air campaigns
- Build weekly/monthly promotional campaign makelists, detailing time-length and versioning requirements
- Set up promotional assets in our scheduling system, What's On
- Use innovative continuity and graphics to promote priorities and minimize audience churn to competitors
- Liaise daily with Creative to ensure timely sign-off, compliance and delivery of all interstitial material
- Partner with Presentation/Channel Operations to finalize promotional plans, communicate navigation requirements and ensure timely handover of transmission schedules that are accurate, editorially sound and OFCOM compliant
- Make full use of non-linear and on-demand platforms to amplify campaign messaging
- Use research systems to monitor campaign delivery and report on final results
- Conduct in-depth post-campaign reviews to capture learnings and drive future best practice
- Partner with Commercial and Sky Media to implement and report on sponsorship and affiliate deals
- Keep a keen eye on and share competitor activity/industry news

What are we looking for?
- Media planning experience in TV broadcast and VOD environment, using a channel management system to create and schedule promotional assets
- Proven knowledge of BARB and media analysis tools (Infosys/Techedge) and techniques to conduct research
- Proven experience building relationships effectively and diplomatically across a range of departments and levels within an organisation
- Experience in presenting to a wide range of audiences
- Demonstrable understanding of the editorial and transmission requirements of a TV schedule
- Experience in developing new systems and processes
- Demonstrable understanding of the commercial broadcast marketplace
- Outstanding eye for detail, numeracy and organisational skills
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and co-ordinate a combination of roles, and work under time pressure
- Ability to take responsibility and work on own initiative
- Fast, methodical and accurate
- Team player with 'can do' attitude
