About IIGCC

IIGCC is an investor-led membership organisation with c.400 members across 20+ countries. We bring the investment community together to navigate the risks and opportunities of the transition and support progress towards a net zero and climate resilient future.

We work with our members to create guidance, tools, frameworks and resources that can help them, in their individual contexts, to manage climate-related financial risk within their individual portfolios. Our work also supports investors to make the most of opportunities presented by the transition towards a decarbonised global economy and the realities of a changing climate. We cover a range of important topics, including net zero, adaptation and resilience, emerging markets and developing economies, and nature.

Through our leading work, we help investors to navigate implementation of climate considerations in their individual portfolios, advocate for a more supportive policy environment, and provide them with the tools to undertake effective stewardship and engagement with companies, and the wider market.

The role

We are looking for a communications professional with established media relations experience and strong judgement, ideally with experience in climate change, investment, financial services or public policy. This is a primarily media-focused role, combining day-to-day responsibility for media relations with wider communications support across the team. You will work independently on routine activity, with strategic guidance from senior colleagues on priority issues. The role would suit someone with strong media contacts in the UK and ideally the EU, and the confidence to take proactive decisions without needing constant direction. You will need to identify reputational risks and opportunities, manage reactive issues, and help shape clear messaging and narratives across a range of communications outputs. Importantly, the role requires someone who can think about reputation management more broadly than media relations alone.

You will work across IIGCC programmes activity, support members on media relations, and collaborate with colleagues and external partners on joint initiatives. The role will also support the profile and reputation of major global initiatives and contribute to a range of communications activity including briefings, messaging, content, digital, events and other team outputs.

Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Communications, you will be part of an established communications and membership team of 10+.

Main responsibilities

Media relations and reputation management

  • Lead day-to-day media relations activity to support IIGCC’s strategic objectives across its three programmes: Policy, Corporate and Investor Strategies.
  • Manage the press office, including reactive media issues and proactive media opportunities.
  • Draft, edit and place high-quality press releases, op-eds, statements and other media activations on a proactive and reactive basis.
  • Manage and develop IIGCC’s media contacts across the UK and ideally the EU, including print, online and broadcast.
  • Support media training for spokespeople and help prepare them with briefings, lines to take and messaging.
  • Working with senior colleagues, support the development and execution of media relations activity for the CEO.
  • Monitor media coverage, assess impact, and share relevant intelligence, news and industry developments internally.
  • Support and protect IIGCC’s brand identity, profile and reputation.
  • Engage professionally with members on media relations activity.
  • Support the development of narrative, key messaging and common language across content and campaigns.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of communications activity across digital, social, events and other team outputs.
  • Support communications planning for key launches, workstreams and outputs across IIGCC programmes.
  • Contribute to the development of speeches, talking points, briefings and other senior stakeholder materials.
  • Work across IIGCC programme activities, coordinating and managing multiple stakeholders at different levels of seniority.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider communications team to deliver IIGCC’s overall communications strategy.
  • Support project management of communications outputs and ensure established processes and document formats are followed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
