Grow Our Engineering Media Brands and Help Shape Our 2028 Exhibition
Since 1982, Setform has helped engineering and manufacturing companies connect with technical decision-makers through trusted publications, digital platforms and high-quality marketing solutions.
We are looking for an ambitious Media Sales Executive to grow advertising and sponsorship revenue across International Transport Manufacturer, International Design Engineer and International Electronics Engineer, our new magazine launching in February 2027. The role will also draw on their exhibition sales experience to support the commercial development of our engineering exhibition, due to launch in 2028.
This is an opportunity to join an established engineering media business, develop a strong portfolio of clients and sell integrated campaigns across print and digital channels. As the exhibition develops, you will also help shape its commercial proposition and build relationships with prospective exhibitors and sponsors.
Role Details
- Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience, plus uncapped commission
- Location: Hybrid - Initially working across London and St Albans offices, with greater flexibility to work from home once established
- Employment type: Full-time, permanent
- Probationary period: Six months
- Reporting to: Head of Sales
The Opportunity
This is a consultative media sales role with one clear immediate objective: to grow commercial revenue across ITM, IDE and IEE.
You will be responsible for winning new business, developing existing accounts and building long-term relationships with engineering manufacturers, technology providers and industrial businesses across the UK and internationally.
Rather than simply selling advertising space, you will take the time to understand each client's objectives and recommend the right combination of print advertising, digital display, sponsored content, email marketing and wider promotional activity.
Working alongside the Head of Sales, Editorial and Production teams, you will develop tailored campaigns that help clients build awareness, launch products, generate qualified sales opportunities and strengthen their position in the market.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
