Description
Are you a driven and strategic leader with a passion for digital media and sales performance? Newsquest Media Group / LOCALiQ is seeking a dynamic Sales Manager to lead a team of Digital Advertising Consultants, driving revenue growth and delivering innovative multimedia solutions to clients across the Cumbria and Lancashire region.
As a Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading, coaching, and developing a high‑performing digital sales team across a defined territory or category. You will be responsible for embedding a coaching culture, spending at least 50% of your time working directly with your team in the field or virtually, supporting their development and driving performance.
A background in media advertising is preferred, though strong sales leaders from other industries will also be considered. You will oversee both new business activity and key account growth, ensuring operational excellence, high-quality customer outcomes, and strong revenue performance across digital and multimedia solutions. Some travel to one of the regional offices is essential to this role.
You will collaborate closely with the Sales Director to support strategic digital revenue initiatives, while leading day‑to‑day sales operations with precision, positivity, and commercial focus.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of Digital Advertising Consultants to achieve revenue targets and activity goals.
- Drive performance through SMART objectives, KPI-led coaching, and structured development plans.
- Grow revenue across a portfolio of existing key accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Support your team in building creative, multimedia-led marketing proposals and identifying digital solution opportunities.
- Implement effective sales tactics, ensuring activity levels and strategies are optimised to deliver results.
- Maintain strong operational oversight, managing pipelines, forecasting, and CRM hygiene to the highest standard.
- Work collaboratively with senior leadership to support wider digital transformation and revenue strategies.
- Spend significant time supporting your team in the field (minimum 50%), observing, coaching, and evaluating performance.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Commercial Acumen: Strong understanding of sales KPIs, revenue drivers, and local business economics. Ability to convert commercial insights into practical sales strategies.
- Data & Insight Analysis: Confident in interpreting performance data, spotting trends, and identifying opportunities or gaps. Ability to set and track clear, data‑driven goals.
- Tactical Development & Drive: Proven capability to design, implement, and measure sales tactics that elevate team performance. Skilled in adjusting messaging, activity, and targeting.
- Digital Knowledge: Strong grasp of LOCALiQ digital solutions and a broad understanding of the digital marketing landscape, including SEO, PPC, display advertising, and paid social.
- Coaching Culture: Demonstrated success motivating, developing, and upskilling sales teams both in‑person and remotely. Able to embed a coaching culture that grows capability and confidence.
- Digital Sales Expertise: Experience selling or coaching high‑value digital advertising solutions, such as digital display, paid social, and multimedia packages.
- Key Account Development: Ability to nurture client relationships, grow customer spend, and drive maturity in digital solution adoption.
- CRM & Process Excellence: High proficiency with CRM platforms and internal workflows, ensuring accuracy, strong forecasting, and process consistency.
