Media Team Lead
Location: London

An established and rapidly growing performance marketing business is looking for an experienced Media Team Lead to join its expanding media function.
The business operates at the intersection of mobile, paid media, affiliate and comparison-site marketing, with a strong presence in the US online gambling market. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining team management with ownership of media strategy, performance and growth across multiple channels.
The Role
You’ll lead a team of Media Buyers while taking ownership of the strategy and performance of a significant paid media operation. The focus will be on driving scalable acquisition, improving ROI/ROAS and identifying new opportunities across paid social, mobile, programmatic and affiliate/comparison traffic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading, developing and motivating a team of Media Buyers
- Setting media strategy and driving performance against spend, revenue and ROAS/ROI targets
- Managing paid media across paid social, programmatic, mobile/app and direct channels
- Developing paid social activity across platforms such as Meta, Snapchat, X, Reddit, Telegram and emerging channels
- Managing budgets across multiple markets and geographies
- Identifying and onboarding new DSPs, media sources and acquisition channels
- Owning mobile app acquisition, including installs, in-app events, attribution and ROI
- Managing high-volume affiliate and comparison-site campaigns from strategy and creative through to launch, optimisation and scaling
- Working closely with internal teams to improve campaign performance and productivity
- Using data, testing and creative iteration to identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement
- Navigating the certification, whitelisting and compliance requirements associated with regulated verticals

What They're Looking For
You'll need a strong background in performance media and paid acquisition, alongside genuine experience within an affiliate environment.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- 4+ years' media buying experience, including significant hands-on campaign management
- 2+ years' experience managing or leading a media buying team
- Previous in-house experience within an affiliate business — this is essential
- Proven experience driving traffic to affiliate, comparison or review sites
- Experience within a regulated/high-compliance sector such as iGaming, sports betting or crypto
- Strong hands-on experience across paid social platforms, particularly Meta and ideally Snapchat, X, Reddit or Telegram
- Experience with mobile app acquisition and UA, including app installs, in-app events and native advertising formats
- Experience using mobile measurement platforms such as AppsFlyer, Adjust or Kochava
- Strong understanding of ROAS/ROI, budget management, forecasting and performance optimisation
- A data-driven approach with the ability to turn performance data into actionable decisions
- Experience managing campaigns targeting the US market would be advantageous

This role is particularly suited to someone who has worked in-house at an affiliate business, rather than purely within an agency or brand-side media team.
