STADA UK Thornton & Ross – Medical Affairs Placement Student
Reading | U.K. | Full-time | 12-month Fixed Term Contract
Commencing July 2027 | Salary £28,000

As a Medical Affairs Placement Student at STADA UK, you’ll be a core member of a dynamic Medical Affairs team, working across Consumer Healthcare, Generics, Biosimilars and Specialty portfolios. This is your chance to gain broad, real-world exposure to Medical Affairs in a growing function, while contributing to meaningful business and scientific activities.
You’ll be at the heart of day-to-day operations with real responsibility, plus the opportunity to shape scientific projects, support medical education initiatives and input into Medical Affairs plans.
Along the way, you’ll build hands-on experience in Medical Information, Medical Affairs Operations, Scientific Communications, Medical Education, Medical Governance and Compliance—collaborating closely with Senior Medical Advisors, MSLs, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, R&D, Commercial and Marketing teams.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Handle real Medical Information enquiries, helping to craft accurate, balanced and evidence-based responses.
- Dive into scientific literature, distill complex data into clear summaries, and shape high-quality scientific and educational materials.
- Play a key role in planning and delivering Medical Affairs events, from congresses and advisory boards to educational meetings.
- Build your expertise in medical governance and compliance, including ABPI and PAGB Codes and core material review processes.
- Collaborate closely with RAMACA colleagues across Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance and Compliance to gain a rounded view of the function.
- Deliver an end-of-placement project, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and actively shape your own professional development.

What We Are Looking For
- Currently studying for a Life Sciences degree (e.g. Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Neuroscience or related).
- Clear interest in the pharmaceutical industry and Medical Affairs, with the ability to interpret and communicate scientific information confidently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, combined with excellent organization, attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ideally some exposure to healthcare, scientific, customer service or office-based settings, and experience with literature reviews, research projects or data analysis.
- Motivated to take ownership and show initiative, contributing positively to team culture and continuous improvement—even without line management responsibilities.
- No prior pharmaceutical or Medical Affairs experience required, making this a strong opportunity to launch a career in Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Pharmacovigilance or related areas.
