Job Description: Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Administrator
We are looking for an organised and customer-focused Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Administrator to join the Medical Director’s Office. Working 30 hours per week as part of a small specialist team, you will help coordinate appraisal, revalidation and professional registration processes for approximately 1100 doctors connected to the Trust’s designated body.
You will provide a reliable point of contact for doctors, medical appraisers and senior clinical colleagues, offering timely guidance and practical support. The role involves maintaining accurate and confidential records, monitoring deadlines, supporting doctors to prepare the information required for appraisal and revalidation, and ensuring key systems such as L2P and GMC Connect remain up to date.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide reliable point of contact for doctors, medical appraisers and senior clinical colleagues
- Offer timely guidance and practical support
- Maintain accurate and confidential records
- Monitor deadlines and support doctors in preparing required information for appraisal and revalidation
- Ensure key systems such as L2P and GMC Connect remain up to date
- Issue reminders and notices
- Collate supporting information
- Monitor outstanding requirements
- Support doctors and appraisers through the appraisal and revalidation process
- Update records for starters and leavers
- Administer transfer-of-information and bank doctor processes
- Produce reports
- Provide timely advice and guidance to medical staff

Key Skills and Experience
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Sensitivity and sound judgement
- Strong written communication skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision
- Experience in NHS or medical appraisal and revalidation would be helpful but is not essential
Visa Sponsorship
This position is not eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already hold the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the contract.
