Position: Medical Coder
Type: Contract
Compensation: $55 - $68/hour
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10-40 hrs/week
Role Responsibilities
- Annotate and review medical records, ensuring accurate assignment of ICD-10 and CPT codes based on documentation.
- Apply Evaluation & Management (E&M) leveling using official guidelines to validate and enrich datasets.
- Leverage up-to-date coding reference materials to maintain compliance with current coding standards.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders via written and verbal communication to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities in clinical documentation.
- Provide high-quality feedback on coding guidelines and edge cases to improve project workflows and model understanding.
- Contribute domain expertise to the creation and validation of medical code datasets for AI training purposes.

Requirements
- Active AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required.
- Comprehensive understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding systems and E&M leveling guidelines.
- Experience with diverse clinical documentation types and associated coding challenges.
- Proficiency with both written and verbal communication, with a strong attention to clarity and detail.
- Access to up-to-date official ICD-10 and CPT coding books, as well as E&M guidelines.
