Cure Talent are delighted to be partnered with a growing medical device certification organisation that is expanding its scope into a number of additional medical device technologies.
As part of this expansion, we are looking to speak with experienced clinical and scientific professionals who could join an ad hoc contractor Talent Pool, providing independent clinical expertise to support future medical device conformity assessment.
The organisation is currently building and evidencing its specialist capability as part of its designation process, so these are not immediate full-time assignments.
Current Clinical Profile Requirements
- MDA 0102 | Active Implantable Drug Delivery Devices Active implantable devices used to deliver drugs or other substances.
- MDA 0201 | Diagnostic Imaging / Ionising Radiation Active imaging devices including X-ray, CT, fluoroscopy and other technologies utilising ionising radiation.
- MDA 0314 | Cell, Tissue & Organ Processing / Preservation Active devices used for processing and preserving human cells, tissues or organs, including IVF and assisted reproductive technologies.
- MDA 0317 | Cleaning, Disinfection & Sterilisation Active devices used for cleaning, disinfecting, sterilising or reprocessing medical devices.
- MDN 1102 | Osteo & Orthopaedic Implants Non-active orthopaedic implants including joint replacement, trauma, spinal and related technologies.

The Role
Depending on your specialist area, you may be asked to:
- Assess the clinical aspects and supporting evidence of medical devices.
- Evaluate whether clinical claims, intended use, risks and supporting evidence are appropriate.
- Apply current clinical or scientific knowledge to device assessment.
- Provide independent specialist input to technical and regulatory reviewers.
- Review clinical evidence and reach clear, evidence-based conclusions.
- Clearly document and communicate your professional judgement.
Who We Are Looking For
You will need:
- A relevant degree in a clinical, medical or scientific discipline.
- Significant direct experience within at least one of the device categories above.
- Demonstrable specialist knowledge of the clinical or scientific aspects of that technology.
- The ability to evidence your competence through qualifications, clinical practice, products, procedures, research or professional experience.
- The ability to work independently and provide clear, defensible professional conclusions.
For MDA 0201, there is a particular interest in practising or registered clinicians, radiographers, clinical scientists and medical physicists, as well as senior manufacturer-side clinical professionals with substantial direct imaging expertise.

For MDA 0317, relevant experience may come from microbiology, infection prevention, sterile services, decontamination, clinical science, device testing, design or manufacture. Candidates must be able to demonstrate at least two years' relevant experience within the technology or scientific aspects being assessed.
Contract Arrangement
This is an ad hoc contractor opportunity rather than a full-time assignment.
Successful specialists will complete the organisation's competence and evidence-onboarding process now so they can form part of the relevant specialist pool for its designation process.
There is no guaranteed volume of work and it may be six months or more before paid assignments become available. Future assignments will depend on successful designation, customer demand, your specialist area and your availability.
The arrangement is designed to sit alongside your existing employment, consultancy or other professional commitments.
Rates are flexible and will depend on experience and specialist expertise.
