As a Medical Director, Clinical Research & Development at ICON

You will provide medical leadership and strategic direction to clinical development programs.

What You Will Do

  • Lead medical affairs delivery across your portfolio, setting standards and developing your team.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Providing medical and scientific oversight for clinical trials, ensuring that study protocols are scientifically sound and aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as scientific leader and/or Clinical Research and Development Lead on multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Collaborating with clinical operations, regulatory, and safety teams to drive the successful execution of clinical development programs.
  • Review and interpretation of data and analyses from clinical studies including data files and tables/figures/listings as needed.
  • Write, review, edit, and QC of applicable documents including synopses, protocols, amendments, clinical study reports, narratives, investigator brochures, informed consent forms, manuscripts, clinical development plans, analysis plans in a manner consistent with applicable scientific and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as Medical Monitor for clinical studies.
  • Interpreting clinical trial data and providing medical insights to inform decision-making and guide clinical development strategies.
  • Building relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, and external stakeholders to support clinical development initiatives.

Your Profile

You will bring significant medical affairs experience, with a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering results.

Required Qualifications And Experience

  • Medical degree (MD) or equivalent qualification - Cardiology MD OR Endocrinology/Diabetes/Obesity or Internal Medicine MDs.
  • Extensive experience in clinical research and development, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
  • Strong understanding of clinical trial design, regulatory requirements, and GCP guidelines.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on interpreting clinical data and driving evidence-based decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional, global teams.
  • Willingness to travel as required (approximately 10%)
