The Role

The Medical Director will join the Senior Director of Speciality Brands' team here in Stockley Park. This role will have overall UK country-level responsibility for medical affairs activities across Accord Healthcare’s portfolio of medicines.

The Medical Director, UK is accountable for the review and implementation of the long and short-term business strategies to optimize markets for future and current products and development of strategic and operational plans. This includes the management of the UK medical affairs budget.

  • Works closely with EMENA Medical Affairs Leadership Team (MALT) to develop and drive in partnership with the TA Heads the strategic medical affairs plans across the portfolio.
  • As a senior leader the Medical Director, UK will lead and provide coaching of the UK medical team members and ensures appropriate development activities are planned and implemented.
  • Provides input into clinical research strategy & operational implementation and enables Phase IV clinical research like registries for launch & licensed products.
  • Gives input on new product development for successful launch into the marketplace.

The Person

  • Substantial experience in a medical function within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience and successful track record in a related role or function within medical affairs.
  • Preference to have prior experience working within Haematology/Oncology, Autoimmune, CNS/Critical care and/or Biosimilars.
  • Life Science degree (medical or biological degree is preferred) with proven leadership experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Perceptive, creative person with the ability to contribute new ideas and to build consensus.
  • Commercial acumen, demonstrating a desire and drive to work in partnership with commercial teams.
  • Team builder, capable of interacting effectively with external contacts and at every level within the company.
  • Resilient self-starter, able to act independently and learn quickly.
  • Outstanding leadership skills, effective in marshalling support across an organization.
  • Extensive cross-functional project leadership experience married to an ability to operate effectively in a complex matrix organization.
  • Broad understanding of the regulatory environment in the Country and Region.
