Medical Director

Harpenden Medical - Harpenden, Hertfordshire

Flexible / Part-Time | Private Practice | Excellent Remuneration

Harpenden Medical is looking for an experienced and commercially minded GP / Medical Director to join our growing private medical practice in Harpenden. This is a senior position combining private GP services with clinical leadership, governance, and the strategic development of the practice. We are looking for someone who wants to play an active role in shaping and growing a high-quality, modern private medical service.

The Role

  • Provide high-quality private GP services.
  • Act as the senior clinical lead for Harpenden Medical.
  • Provide clinical oversight across our multidisciplinary team.
  • Lead on clinical governance, policies, protocols, and patient safety.
  • Support and maintain CQC compliance and high clinical standards.
  • Lead and participate in clinical audits, significant-event reviews, and quality-improvement initiatives.
  • Provide leadership, support, and mentorship to clinicians.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and development of new clinicians.
  • Help develop and introduce new medical services.
  • Ensure care remains evidence-based, safe, and patient-centred.
  • Work closely with the management team on the strategic direction and growth of Harpenden Medical.

About You

  • A fully qualified GP with GMC registration and licence to practise.
  • An experienced clinician with excellent clinical judgement.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Confident providing clinical leadership to other healthcare professionals.
  • Experienced in clinical governance and quality improvement.
  • Familiar with CQC requirements and regulated healthcare environments.
  • Proactive, dynamic, and solutions-focused.
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced and evolving private healthcare environment.
  • Interested in innovation and developing new services.
  • An excellent communicator and collaborative team member.

Previous experience as a Medical Director, Clinical Director, GP Partner, or Clinical Lead would be advantageous.
