Edgbaston Wellness Clinic | Birmingham Medical Quarter
Edgbaston Wellness Clinic is expanding its medical and surgical services and is inviting applications from experienced consultant-grade doctors and GPs with established extended roles who wish to develop or expand a high-quality private practice within a professionally governed clinical environment.
We are particularly interested in clinicians offering specialist consultations, diagnostic services, minor surgery, procedural medicine, and other evidence-based treatments that fall within the clinic’s registered scope.
Who we are seeking
Applications are welcomed from:
- Consultant doctors who are included on the GMC Specialist Register in the specialty relevant to the services they intend to provide
- GPs who are included on the GMC GP Register and can evidence appropriate additional qualifications, accredited training, competence, and experience in an extended clinical or procedural role
- Doctors with established private practice experience or a clear, credible proposal for developing a specialist service
- Clinicians able to work independently while participating fully in clinical governance, audit, and multidisciplinary working
Consultant applicants must be included on the relevant GMC Specialist Register. Registration with the GMC alone, without appropriate specialist registration or recognized extended-role credentials, will not be sufficient for consultant-led services.
Potential areas of practice
We are open to proposals across a range of specialties and services, including:
- Minor surgery and procedural medicine
- Urology and men’s health
- Dermatology and skin surgery
- Women’s health and menopause services
- Musculoskeletal medicine and joint procedures
- Pain management
- Diagnostic and screening services
- Regenerative and evidence-based interventional treatments
- Other specialist outpatient services that are compatible with the clinic’s facilities, governance framework, and CQC registration

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

All new services will undergo clinical, regulatory, and operational review before launch. Approval will depend on the clinician’s qualifications, experience, scope of competence, and the clinic’s ability to deliver the service safely.
