Location: KIMS Hospital, Maidstone
Contract: Permanent 15 Hours per week
Working Hours: Monday and Friday 08:00–16:00 and Saturday's 1 in 3
Salary: £9,913.80 per annum (this is the equivalent of a full time salary of £26,436.80).

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our friendly and supportive UKAS-accredited Pathology Lab at KIMS Hospital in Maidstone – Kent’s largest independent hospital. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in patient care while learning from experienced professionals in a modern and fast-paced lab setting.
What You’ll Be Doing
Responsibilities
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will provide essential support to our Biomedical Scientists, assisting with both technical and administrative tasks. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the delivery of a high-quality, multi-disciplinary pathology service.
- Accurately receiving, labelling, and recording specimens using our IT systems.
- Maintaining and cleaning laboratory equipment in line with SOPs and regulatory standards.
- Helping uphold our laboratory’s ISO:15189 accreditation through diligent, safe, and compliant practices.

What We’re Looking For
Skills
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to grow their skills in a clinical environment. Ideally, you will have:
- GCSEs in English, Maths, and Science.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Confidence in using IT systems and a willingness to learn new platforms.
- Experience working in a healthcare or laboratory environment (desirable but not essential).
