The Medical Learning Strategist for Learning Solutions provides senior medical, scientific, and educational leadership across the design, development, and delivery of learning programmes for medical, clinical, commercial, and field-based audiences. This role combines medical expertise, strategic learning leadership, instructional design oversight, stakeholder advisory, and governance to ensure learning solutions are scientifically robust, educationally effective, compliant, and aligned to business and medical objectives.
The Medical Learning Strategist works closely with medical, scientific, brand, compliance, creative, digital, and project management teams to translate complex clinical and scientific information into high-quality, learner-focused programmes and assets. The MLS for Learning acts as a senior partner to clients and internal teams, providing medical direction, educational strategy, quality oversight, and practical recommendations that improve knowledge, confidence, capability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior medical and educational leadership across learning strategy, curriculum design, content development, and programme delivery.
- Advise customers, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional teams on medical learning needs, capability gaps, strategic priorities, and appropriate educational approaches.
- Translate scientific, clinical, and brand information into structured learning journeys, curricula, workshops, digital modules, and supporting assets.
- Apply adult learning principles, instructional design best practice, and learner engagement techniques to ensure training is effective, practical, and relevant.
- Define learning objectives, content architecture, learner pathways, assessment approaches, measurement plans, and quality expectations.
- Guide medical writers, instructional designers, creative teams, digital specialists, subject matter experts, and project managers to deliver high-quality learning materials.
- Review learning content for strategic alignment, clinical relevance, medical accuracy, learner clarity, scientific balance, and consistency with approved messaging.
- Provide medical governance and ensure learning programmes comply with applicable medical, legal, regulatory, ethical, and industry standards.
- Support business development, proposal strategy, senior client presentations, capability recommendations, and project planning where required.

Qualifications And Essential Requirements
- Degree or advanced qualification (i.e. PhD) in medicine, pharmacy, nursing, life sciences, biomedical sciences, medical education, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in medical education, pharmaceutical training, healthcare communications, medical affairs learning, instructional strategy, or a related role.
- Proven experience providing medical review, scientific guidance, or strategic advisory input for learning programmes is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working with medical, legal, regulatory, and compliance review processes is essential or highly desirable, depending on role seniority.
- Strong understanding of medical education, clinical practice, healthcare communications, pharmaceutical training, or scientific learning environments.
- Ability to interpret complex scientific and medical information and convert it into clear, practical, engaging, and medically accurate learning content.
- Knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design models, curriculum development, blended learning approaches, and capability-building strategies.
- Excellent strategic thinking, medical judgement, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong advisory, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, customers, and subject matter experts.
- High attention to detail, particularly in relation to medical accuracy, compliance, terminology, scientific balance, and approved messaging.
- Experience developing or overseeing learning solutions across formats such as live workshops, eLearning, microlearning, videos, coaching guides, facilitator materials, assessments, and field tools.
- Strong commercial and project awareness, with the ability to contribute to scopes, timelines, deliverables, quality standards, and strategic recommendations.
