Medical Manager - Exciting opportunity in CVRM and lipid management
Role: Medical Manager
Therapy Area: Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolic (CVRM) / Lipid Management
Package: Competitive and negotiable base salary, 15% annual bonus, company car or £8,000 car allowance, 10% employer pension contribution, private medical and dental insurance
Location: Buckinghamshire, Flexible working, occasional UK and international travel

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Manager to join the Medical Affairs function of an established pharmaceutical company. Reporting to the Medical Lead, the Medical Manager will be a medical expert and a member of the medical leadership team within the pharmaceutical division.
The role bridges high-level medical strategy and field execution, providing strategic direction and leadership while ensuring consistent, compliant and impactful scientific exchange with key external stakeholders. It combines medical strategy execution with external scientific engagement, ensuring Medical Affairs remains externally focused and aligned with business and portfolio priorities. The Medical Manager will support product development and commercialisation through credible, non-promotional scientific exchange and will play an important role in the company’s CVRM and lipid management portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all medical activities comply with the ABPI Code of Practice, PMCPA requirements, ethical standards and company policies, maintaining non-promotional scientific exchange.
- Act as a Final Signatory for medical and promotional materials, certifying compliance with the ABPI Code of Practice and relevant PMCPA requirements.
- Oversee medical budgets, resource allocation and performance measures, including relevant KPIs.
- Analyse field insights to identify gaps in clinical knowledge, competitive intelligence and opportunities that can inform company strategy.
- Build and maintain high-quality, peer-to-peer relationships with NHS stakeholders, key opinion leaders and clinical experts in CVRM and lipid management, acting as a trusted source of scientific information.
- Support colleagues in handling complex stakeholder interactions and lead scientific discussions on emerging data, clinical guidelines and real-world evidence relevant to the CVRM and lipid portfolio.
- Present complex scientific and clinical data clearly, accurately and in a clinically relevant manner.
- Identify and facilitate opportunities for company-sponsored studies and Investigator-Initiated Trials that align with strategic objectives and contribute to the clinical understanding of the CVRM portfolio.
- Respond to unsolicited medical enquiries and support the delivery of scientific content in line with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Provide internal and external training on relevant therapy areas, clinical evidence and scientific data.
- Act as the medical voice within cross-functional teams, contributing to brand strategy, market access planning and healthcare professional engagement initiatives.
- Represent the company at key scientific congresses and symposia, and support the planning and delivery of advisory boards, scientific events and healthcare professional engagement activities.
- Lead and contribute effectively to scientific exchange meetings.

- Strong understanding of CVRM and relevant therapeutic guidelines is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage successfully, both virtually and face-to-face, to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A demonstrable thirst for technical, clinical, medical and scientific knowledge, with the ability to assimilate information quickly.
- Ability to present clinical data clearly and concisely and discuss its statistical and clinical relevance in line with the clinical development strategy.
- High emotional intelligence and excellent relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and scientific data interpretation.
- Strategic thinking, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- Strong analytical capability and scientific curiosity.
- Ability to work independently while integrating closely with internal and cross-functional teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and regionally, and occasionally internationally, for scientific meetings and congresses.
- Medical or pharmacy degree, or a higher degree (MD/PhD) with a clinical background in cardiology, internal medicine or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice.
- ABPI Final Signatory status, or currently working towards Final Signatory status.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Previous Medical Manager or Scientific Manager experience in CVRM within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Familiarity with real-world evidence, patient pathways and NHS structures.
