Medical Needs Teaching Assistant – Newham

Location: Newham

Contract: Temporary

Pay: £105–£135 per day PAYE

The opportunity

Senovo is recruiting a Medical Needs Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEN education setting in Newham. The successful candidate will join a committed team focused on helping children and young people access learning, develop confidence and make meaningful progress.

Key responsibilities

  • Support pupils safely in line with agreed healthcare, care and risk-management plans.
  • Help pupils access learning, routines and school life with dignity and consistency.
  • Complete agreed personal-care or medical-support tasks only when trained and authorised.
  • Keep accurate records and communicate effectively with education and health colleagues.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.

What we are looking for

  • Relevant experience supporting children or young people with medical or physical needs.
  • A calm, reliable approach and willingness to complete role-specific training.
  • Strong teamwork, communication and safeguarding awareness.
  • Useful experience includes care plans, Medical needs support, personal care, safeguarding, SEN classroom support.
  • QTS is not required for this support role.
