Job title: Medical Receptionist

Location: London, W1G 6BW (onsite)
Salary: £29,000
Term: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (for shift pattern, see below)

Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment whilst still delivering excellent patient or customer care?

A little about the role

We're looking for a professional, organised and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our busy Front of House team at our London private hospital. You'll be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a warm, patient-focused service while managing reception, registration, bookings and cashiering.

This is a fast-paced role where you'll need to work efficiently, multitask and stay calm under pressure, while never losing sight of the person in front of you. If you have excellent communication and customer service skills, a smart and professional approach, and genuinely enjoy helping people, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide a professional, efficient and patient-focused service across reception, registration, bookings and cashiering.
  • Manage patient records, registrations, appointments, billing and payments using medical computer systems.
  • Obtain and verify required payment, insurance authorisation and third-party documentation, including Letters of Guarantee.
  • Process patient payments and complete end-of-day cash and transaction reconciliation.
  • Coordinate patient visits to minimise delays and ensure relevant information and documentation is available.
  • Handle patient, visitor and consultant requests and enquiries promptly, escalating complaints or issues where appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and professional reception environment, ensuring confidentiality and high standards of personal presentation.
  • Work flexibly as part of the Front of House team, supporting colleagues and taking on additional duties as required.

What we're looking for

Essential

  • GCSE English or equivalent.
  • Experience in a customer-facing reception or customer service role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Calm, organised and adaptable, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Professional, confident and well-presented.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, trustworthy and committed to providing excellent patient service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
