Role Description

Hours: 10.00 - 18.00 Thursdays and 09.00-13.00 alternate Saturdays to start.

The Medical Receptionist is responsible for providing front-of-house support and ensuring a smooth patient journey from first contact to check-out. This contract, on-site role is based at MedHub in Newmarket and involves greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, and maintaining a professional and welcoming reception area. The Medical Receptionist will handle patient registration, update records, process payments, and manage confidential information in line with clinic policies. The role also involves supporting administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and assisting with clinic communications and reminders.

Qualifications

  • Strong Appointment Scheduling skills, including managing calendars and coordinating patient bookings.
  • Professional Phone Etiquette and clear communication skills for handling calls, enquiries, and patient follow-up.
  • Experience with Receptionist Duties, such as greeting patients, managing front desk operations, and handling check-in/check-out.
  • Working knowledge of Medical Terminology to support accurate communication with patients and clinical staff.
  • Experience in a Medical Office or healthcare setting, with familiarity in managing patient records and confidential information.
  • Proficiency with basic computer systems, practice management software, and email and calendar tools.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Empathetic, patient-focused approach, with the ability to interact respectfully and professionally with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Reliable time management and the ability to work on-site in Newmarket for the duration of the contract.
  • Previous reception or administrative experience in healthcare or a similar regulated environment is essential.
