Position: Medical Records Clerk

Location: Lingfield Point, McMullen Road, Darlington, DL1 1RW

Type of job: Contract initial 3 months with possible extension

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days a week

Shifts: Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm with a 30-minute lunch break

Job Purpose

Performing administrative tasks for patient medical records and associated documents in accordance with an established paper-based or electronic filing system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creating, updating, and maintaining patient medical record information in accordance with the local file management practices and the electronic or manual record filing system.
  • Retrieving, delivering, and filing/storing patient records in accordance with daily scheduled, emergency, and special project needs.
  • Reviewing medical records for completeness and accuracy of required information content and taking appropriate actions to assure record integrity.
  • Performing additional clerical and/or administrative duties as required in the medical records department.

Additional Information

Comprehensive training will be provided along with ongoing support. A good level of computer literacy is needed, alongside a good level of physical fitness as this role will involve manual handling too.

Successful candidates will need to provide their own safety footwear.
