Medical Science Liaison

Location: Remote/Field-based - National (Country-Wide)
Duration: 12 months
Hours: 37.5

Imagine your next project as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), where you will act as a trusted scientific partner—driving evidence-based clinical decisions and collaborating with top specialists to transform patient care.

Role Purpose

As an IBD MSL, your core purpose is to bring deep scientific expertise regarding the safety, efficacy, and clinical placement of J&J Innovative Medicine’s IBD portfolio. You will empower HCPs and key decision-makers with the insights needed to make informed, evidence-based choices for their patients. Operating as the primary non-promotional contact, you will lead strategic engagement with key gastrointestinal specialists and healthcare leaders (Physicians, Pharmacists, Hospital Managers, and Scientific Society Board Members) involved in shaping patient care and driving therapy access.

They work in the interests of patients, the healthcare system, and J&J IM through quality scientific discussion and communication with Leading Specialists (LS) involved in the relevant therapy area; maintaining at least 80% of time externally focused and being seen as a credible and valuable partner in the delivery of care to patients. Through activities in line with the Medical Affairs Plan, they contribute to short-term and long-term company goals. They take a proactive role in looking for strategically aligned opportunities to work with LS to optimise evidence generation (IIS, CSS), liaising with GCO, RWE as appropriate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
