What is the job?

Great patient care doesn't just happen in the consultation room — it starts with a well-organised team behind the scenes.

We're looking for a Medical Secretary to join Montu UK on a 12-week fixed-term maternity cover contract. In this fast-paced role, you'll be the organisational backbone of our clinical team, ensuring clinicians have everything they need to deliver exceptional care to patients.

From coordinating clinician schedules and managing clinical administration to supporting meetings and keeping important documentation up to date, you'll play a key part in making sure our day-to-day operations run seamlessly. No two days are the same, and if you thrive on organisation, enjoy solving problems and love keeping everything on track, you'll fit right in.

This is a full-time, fixed-term maternity cover contract for 12 months, working 40 hours per week.

What will you be doing?

As our Medical Secretary, you'll support the smooth running of the clinical team by:

  • Preparing, maintaining and updating clinician rotas to ensure excellent clinical coverage.
  • Resolving rota conflicts and communicating schedule changes quickly and effectively.
  • Providing day-to-day administrative support to clinicians and the wider medical team.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring documentation is always up to date.
  • Organising meetings, taking minutes and following up on agreed actions.
  • Coordinating consultant inductions and supporting onboarding and training activities.
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure clinicians have the equipment, systems and support they need.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for clinician queries relating to scheduling and administration.
  • Drafting professional correspondence and supporting day-to-day communications.
  • Managing sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Supporting operational projects and helping the team meet key deadlines.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
