Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide full PA and secretarial support to the Chemical Pathologists at Stoke Mandeville and High Wycombe for duties associated with the Lipid Clinic and also duties to the clinical head of the Biochemistry Department.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, other members of staff, consultants, and general practitioners.
  • Deal politely and sensitively with patients and their relatives.
  • Manage own workload in an environment of frequent interruptions and conflicting demands.
  • Provide a complete secretarial service, including audio transcription of medical dictation and ensuring appropriate follow-up action is taken.
  • Deal with queries from patients regarding attendance at the lipid clinic.
  • Liaise with medical records regarding the operation of the Lipid clinic.
  • Handle general secretarial duties including filing and photocopying.
  • Sort and return clinic notes to the medical records department after each clinic.
  • Arrange diary appointments for company representatives etc for the consultant chemical pathologists.
  • Use the hospital Care Record Service (CRS)/Care Flow for clinic functions in line with the trust policy and procedures, including taking new referrals and booking patients in, also follow-up appointments after each clinic.

Job Details

  • This is a part-time post working 15 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9-2pm.
