Medical Secretary - Manchester Area – Ward & Clinical Administration

Hours: 40 hours per week

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, office hours

Location: [Location – details provided upon application]

We are currently looking for an experienced and highly organised Medical Secretary to join our team, working alongside doctors and supporting the smooth running of clinical administration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the medical team, including accurately minute-taking during Ward Rounds and CPA (Care Programme Approach) meetings, as well as completing other administrative tasks as required by the doctors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attending and accurately documenting Ward Rounds and CPA meetings.
  • Producing clear, detailed, and professional meeting minutes.
  • Completing general administrative duties to support the medical team.
  • Preparing and organising documentation as required.
  • Assisting doctors with day-to-day administrative tasks.
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Working professionally with clinical and administrative colleagues.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong and accurate minute-taking skills.
  • Is highly organised and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Is confident working with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Has excellent attention to detail.
  • Is comfortable working in a clinical environment.
  • Can remain professional and composed when dealing with sensitive or distressing information.

Working Hours

The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, generally within standard office hours, with working times around 8:00am to 4:30pm.
