Rota Coordinator
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Rota Coordinator to join our Medical Staffing team here at Tameside Hospital.
About the Role
The main purpose of the post is to lead rostering for your area of responsibility; including the management of rota’s for rotational (changeover) Doctors and the support of their induction into their placement.
Responsibilities
- Provision of Short Notice Cover and Forward Planning: Ensuring there are no gaps on the rota.
- Monitoring and Processing: Annual leave, study leave, and sickness absence; monitoring safe staffing compliance.
- Cross-Cover: To provide cross-cover in the absence of Medical Staffing Rota Coordinators.
- Medical Staffing Service: Coordination of medical rotas, inputting of weekly payroll, processing annual/study leave requests, and booking locums to cover rota gaps.
- Exception Reporting and Analysis: Monitoring of Exception Reporting, providing analysis and feedback.
- Junior Doctor Changeover: Planning and implementation of the junior doctor changeover.
- Trust Internal Locum Bank: Proactively recruiting and developing the Trust Internal Locum Bank.

Key Skills and Experience
- Strong focus on customer service.
- Excellent IT skills (e.g., Sharepoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
- Ability to work with complex erostering systems.
- Good eye for detail.
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Flexibility in providing cross cover in the absence of colleagues.
- Ability to build strong and effective relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Experience of working in a medical staffing environment is desirable.
On-Call Requirements
The post holder will be part of the Medical Staffing weekend on-call which currently operate on a 1 in 6 rota.
