We have multiple opportunities for Medical Underwriters to join our client’s team! As part of the underwriting division, you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive accurate, fair underwriting decisions paired with exceptional service. You’ll be joining a customer-centric team that ensures policies are set up correctly, giving customers peace of mind when they need it the most.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a case pipeline from application to offer, making informed decisions that balance cost, risk, and customer outcomes.
- Provide medical underwriting decisions that align with commercial risk and within personal authority levels.
- Deliver excellent customer service within the regulatory framework, ensuring customer needs are met.
- Serve as a technical point of reference, offering underwriting guidance to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

About You:
- Proven experience in medical underwriting, including critical illness, death, and income protection within the UK market.
- Strong knowledge of the protection market and ability to research, analyze, and interpret complex medical and underwriting information.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and ability to make informed decisions based on medical data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in medical underwriting.
- Relevant qualifications in insurance or underwriting will be advantageous.
