Medical Workforce Coordinator

The Women’s, Cardiac and Clinical Support Services Division is looking for an organised, proactive and confident Medical Workforce Coordinator to support the medical workforce some two of the specialities in the division.

You will work closely with clinical and operational teams to maintain safe and effective medical rotas, anticipate workforce pressures and ensure staffing issues are identified and addressed promptly.

The successful candidate will have experience in rota management or medical staffing processes, strong analytical and numerical skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy clinical environment. You will be comfortable working independently, using workforce and temporary staffing systems, analysing information and communicating clearly with doctors, managers and other stakeholders.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your operational and workforce management experience within a large, complex and high-performing service. You will play an important part in supporting safe service delivery, improving workforce planning and reducing reliance on temporary staffing.

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination, administration, communication and maintenance of Medical Workforce (Resident Doctors and Consultants) staffing across the directorate, including rota management, leave administration, sickness recording, locum coordination and trainee communications and induction.
  • Take day-to-day responsibility for the design, maintenance, publication and monitoring of all Resident Doctors, fulltime and LTFT rotas, ensuring staffing requirements, educational commitments and service requirements are accurately reflected.
  • Act as the primary liaison between resident doctors, consultant rota leads, Medical HR, programme directors and operational managers in relation to rota management, staffing issues and contractual matters.
  • Support recruitment processes by monitoring upcoming rotations, identifying vacancies, liaising with rota leads and Medical HR, and ensuring timely workforce planning discussions take place.
  • Coordinate annual leave, study leave, sickness absence and rota swaps, ensuring all changes are accurately reflected in rostering and rota systems.
  • Coordinate locum booking processes, including administration of temporary staffing booking and management system, monitoring rota gaps and supporting short-term workforce deployment requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
