About the Role
The Countess of Chester Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy technician to join the Medicines Management Team.
Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be required to provide accurate and detailed data relating to medicines finance and will regularly communicate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies with invoices. You will support the wider pharmacy team in the delivery of agreed Cost Improvement Program (CIP) switches and be responsible for managing off-contract claims processes.
- Working with colleagues from pharmacy procurement, finance, IT, and the homecare team you will provide medicines management support for the Trust and external customers.
- To assist in the provision of financial services relating to medicines use for the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
- Responsible for the monitoring and analysing of financial data provided to internal and external sources.
- To support the Medicines Management Team in implementing approved policies and procedures relating to the use of medicines.
- To perform a variety of pharmaceutical technical duties relating to the procurement, preparation, dispensing, and supply of medicines.
- To co-operate with all pharmacy staff in providing and developing an efficient and comprehensive pharmaceutical service under the direction of senior pharmacy management.

The Trust’s services are provided from three locations:
- The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 473 general and acute beds.
- Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate, and outpatient facility.
- Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust employs 5,964 staff (headcount) to provide care and treatment to a population of over 400,000 people living in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire.
