About The Role
This temporary Meeting Support Administrator role with Pertemps Plymouth supports the Children & Young People's Services team at Plymouth City Council, based at Ballard House. Working 37 hours weekly on a hybrid pattern of two office days and three from home, the post runs from 19th October 2026 to 17th January 2027, paying £13.90 hourly. Duties centre on accurate minute taking for meetings, alongside general business support. Candidates need proven administrative experience, strong written communication, good organisation and confident IT abilities. Flexibility around office attendance is essential. The position offers public sector exposure, contributing to services safeguarding children, young people and families throughout Plymouth.

The Role
Key Duties Will Include
- Producing accurate minutes for statutory meetings.
- Recording and summarising complex discussions professionally and concisely.
- Supporting the creation and maintenance of Child Protection Plans.
- Maintaining accurate records, databases and attendee information.
- Handling sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Updating relevant systems and providing general business support and administrative assistance as required.
Essential Requirements
- Previous minute-taking experience.
- Strong written communication, grammar and spelling skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Previous administration experience within a busy office environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
- NVQ Level 3 Business Administration or equivalent experience.

Desirable
- Experience within Children's Services or a public sector environment.
- Knowledge of safeguarding principles and related legislation.
- Previous business support experience within statutory services.
Enhanced DBS Required
Due to the nature of this role, an Enhanced DBS check is required. If you already hold a DBS registered with the Update Service, this is beneficial. If not, the cost of obtaining a new DBS certificate will be covered for the successful candidate.
