About the Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and people-focused Meetings & Events Supervisor to join our Meetings & Events Team at The Municipal Hotel & Spa MGallery Liverpool.
We opened Liverpool's first 5-star hotel, The Municipal Hotel & Spa MGallery, in May 2023 and have breathed new life into one of the city's most iconic landmarks. Our Heartists® are passionate about creating unforgettable experiences, ensuring every guest enjoys exceptional hospitality and service throughout their journey with us. With 179 luxurious bedrooms, exceptional dining experiences, elegant event spaces and a world-class spa, The Municipal continues to set the standard for luxury hospitality in Liverpool.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week, working 5 days over 7. Flexibility on days, evenings and weekends is essential to meet the needs of the business.
A Day in the Life of a Meetings & Events Supervisor at The Municipal Hotel & Spa MGallery
As Meetings & Events Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional events and memorable guest experiences. You'll lead the team through the setup, delivery and breakdown of meetings, conferences, private dining events, weddings and special occasions, ensuring every detail is executed to the highest standard.
Working closely with the Meetings & Events Management team, Sales & Events, Kitchen, Front Office and wider hotel departments, you'll ensure seamless communication, exceptional service delivery and operational excellence throughout every event. Your visible leadership, attention to detail and passion for hospitality will help create unforgettable experiences for our guests and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the setup, service and breakdown of meetings, conferences, private dining and special events.
- Lead and motivate the Meetings & Events team during service, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
- Welcome event organisers and delegates, providing a warm, professional and personalised experience.
- Review and implement Banqueting Event Orders (BEOs), ensuring all event requirements are delivered accurately.
- Conduct daily team briefings, communicating service expectations, timings and responsibilities.
- Coordinate room layouts, audiovisual requirements, signage and event materials.
- Act as the main point of contact during events, managing requests, resolving issues and adapting to changing client needs.
- Liaise closely with the Sales & Events and Kitchen teams to ensure flawless event execution.
- Monitor event flow and staffing levels, making adjustments where required to maintain service standards.
- Support revenue growth through upselling opportunities and exceptional customer engagement.
- Maintain departmental standards relating to presentation, cleanliness, health & safety and brand compliance.
- Coach, support and develop team members through training and on-the-job guidance.
- Promote a positive, professional and inclusive team culture that reflects our Heartist® values.

What We Need From You
- Previous experience in a Meetings & Events, Banqueting or Food & Beverage supervisory role.
- A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience coordinating multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to service excellence.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to make decisions during service.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- Knowledge of event operations, room setups and conference service standards is highly desirable.
- A positive attitude and genuine enthusiasm for creating memorable guest experiences.
