MEICA Engineer - Water Industry

Location: Camberley, Surrey
Contract Type: Contract
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: £450-£550 per day (DOE)
Employer: Leading Tier 1 Infrastructure Contractor

The Opportunity

A leading Tier 1 contractor is seeking an experienced MEICA Engineer to support the successful delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects within the Thames Water region. Working as part of a multidisciplinary delivery team, you will play a key role in delivering AMP8 projects, from design and procurement through construction, commissioning, and handover. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile projects that will help shape the future of the UK's water infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver MEICA aspects of water and wastewater capital projects.
  • Support project delivery from concept, design, and procurement through to commissioning and handover.
  • Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, ICA, and Civil engineering activities.
  • Review technical specifications, drawings, and contractor submissions.
  • Support site installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Liaise with clients, operational teams, designers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and support programme delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Produce technical documentation, reports, and commissioning records.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience as a MEICA Engineer, Project Engineer, EICA Engineer, or EC&I Engineer within the water industry.
  • Experience delivering clean water or wastewater treatment projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of project life cycle delivery, commissioning, and handover processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working on Thames Water frameworks.
  • Thames Water Passport.
  • CSCS Card.
  • SMSTS
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or working towards accreditation.
