MEICA Estimator
An established infrastructure contractor is looking for an experienced MEICA Estimator to join their team.
This is a key role responsible for developing MEICA estimates and tenders for water and wastewater projects, from initial scope development through to contract award, with continued involvement during the enabling phase of each project.
Responsibilities for MEICA Estimator:
- Develop the scope of work for MEICA projects and manage the full tender pricing process
- Apply experience of MEICA equipment and services used in water and wastewater treatment to achieve safe, efficient, and environmentally sound solutions
- Contribute to process design development, ensuring designs are checked, verified, and sufficiently developed for accurate tender submissions
- Prepare material, equipment, and sub-contract enquiries, evaluating supply chain tender returns for compilation into the tender
- Produce bottom-up MEICA cost estimates derived from client scope and technical information
- Manage risk and value during the tender period, preparing budgets and cost plans
- Ensure all estimating and tender procedures and governance requirements are followed before tender adjudication
- Capture actual cost data and programme milestone achievement to embed learning into future tenders
- Communicate clearly with senior management, designers, consultants, clients, and project teams on all technical matters
- Promote and maintain health and safety across all projects

Essential Requirements for MEICA Estimator:
- A-Level or equivalent plus a foundation degree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Full understanding of the complexities of MEICA equipment and systems
- Proven experience in estimating within the water and wastewater industry
- MEICA installation and commissioning knowledge including process understanding for water and wastewater treatment
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, develop baseline cost estimates, and produce labour, plant, and material cost build-ups
- Experience evaluating supply chain proposals for MEICA equipment including scope of supply, technical compliance, and commercial offer
- Experience with estimating software such as Candy
- Understanding of multiple forms of contract including NEC, and experience operating within water and wastewater frameworks
- Knowledge of WIMES Standards
- Previous experience in a similar estimating role as a Mechanical or Electrical Estimator or Proposals Engineer
