Tessl
A fast-growing Series A startup based in London, founded by Guy Podjarny. We’ve raised over $100M from world-class investors: Index Ventures, Accel, GV, and Boldstart. In 2025, we were ranked #2 in Sifted EU’s B2B SaaS Rising 100 and #20 in Sifted’s AI 100.
We’re building the context layer for AI coding agents and a platform for AI-native software development. As an early member of the team, you’ll help shape how we build, scale, and support a company operating at the edge of AI and software development.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Member of Product Staff—a senior, hands-on product manager who can:
- Own ambiguous, high-stakes problems end-to-end.
- Help define how product is practised as the team grows.
This is a generalist role. The patterns for how developers work with AI agents are still forming, so you’ll directly shape them across:
- CLI and core platform
- New opportunities as we expand
Much of your work will be 0-to-1—you’ll define product direction in genuine ambiguity, translate fast-moving AI advances into developer-focused experiences, and determine what’s worth building in an uncharted space.
The role also requires building an AI-native product practice: using AI tools to work faster, more clearly, and with higher quality. We expect:
- Active engagement with AI—more than just occasional use—defining how you and the team work with it.
- Constant evolution of processes to stay ahead of the curve.
What You’ll Work On
- End-to-end product ownership: Take ambiguous problems from concept to launch to iteration, prioritising what truly matters.
- Develop deep product sense for developer workflows: Immerse yourself in coding environments, research pain points, and leverage AI’s potential—giving tangible product direction.
- Translate frontier AI capabilities into reliable, high-value developer tools by working closely with engineering and research.
- Shape strategy, not just execute: Bring a clear perspective on roadmap and direction, actively shaping outcomes—not just responding to decisions.
- Lead through influence: Connect engineering, design, research, GTM, and leadership, ensuring alignment and clarity globally.
- Maintain a high quality bar at speed: Ship fast while preserving rigour, developer trust, and product fidelity.
- Build an AI-native product process: Establish and share best practices, defining how product is built at Tessl using advanced tools.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements
- Experience: 6+ years in product management (or equivalent), demonstrating end-to-end delivery of technically demanding products with high autonomy.
- Product sense & judgment: Strong ability to prioritise the right things, grounded in business acumen, and navigate ambiguity without full data.
- Technical fluency: Working with developer-focused audiences, either as users, engineers, or data professionals. While not expecting you to code, you must:
- Be curious about the systems and infrastructure powering your product.
- Partner effectively with research and engineering teams.
- 0-to-1 instinct: Comfortable forming strategy without clear precedents or processes—favours ambiguity over settled solutions.
- Collaboration & communication:
- Proactively bridge gaps between engineering, design, research, and leadership.
- Clearly articulate your point of view while adopting the best idea—regardless of origin.
- Domain experience (advantage):
- Developer tools, AI/ML applications, or productivity infrastructure.
- Experience with CLI tooling, agentic workflows, or evaluation systems counts as an added plus.
