Clidey is building the next generation of open-source data infrastructure. Our flagship product, WhoDB, is a self-hosted data platform that helps organisations connect, explore, govern, transform and understand their data, without giving up control of it.
We're looking for an engineer who likes owning problems, not just tickets.
You'll work across the stack, take projects from idea to production, and deal with problems that don't always have a Stack Overflow answer. That could mean working with Go, TypeScript, React, databases, distributed systems, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP, AI, APIs, or open-source infrastructure.
What we care about
- Curiosity
- Ownership
- Accountability
- Attention to detail

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
We care a lot about the last 10%. Getting something 90% done is easy. Getting it to 100% is where the real engineering happens.
That means thinking about edge cases, performance, security, testing, deployment, monitoring, UX and what happens six months after you've shipped it.
You'll probably enjoy this if you:
- Like figuring things out from first principles
- Enjoy working across the stack
- Like understanding how things work under the hood
- Would rather build than sit in meetings about building
- Enjoy difficult technical problems
- Want significant ownership
- Like open source
- Have strong opinions, but are happy to change them when the evidence says you're wrong
- Build things because you can't help yourself

You don't need to know everything. We're much more interested in how you think, learn and solve problems than how many technologies you can list on your CV.
What you'll get
- Significant ownership over what we build
- The chance to work across databases, distributed systems, cloud, AI and open source
- A small, highly technical team where your decisions actually matter
- The opportunity to ship software used by real organisations
- Plenty of room to learn and explore
- Competitive salary + meaningful equity
If you're the kind of engineer who sees a problem and thinks "I'll figure it out", we'd like to hear from you.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
