Member of the Advisory Board
Adcote School for Girls is seeking to appoint a Member of its Advisory Board. We are looking for an individual with a genuine passion for and commitment to the School, with a particular focus on supporting the education, wellbeing and development of our students.
This is a voluntary role and provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to work alongside fellow members of the Advisory Board and the School's Senior Leadership Team, contributing their experience, knowledge and perspective to support the continued development and future success of Adcote School.
The Advisory Board
The Advisory Board meets three times per year, once in each school term, and works within the overall ethos and policy framework of the School.
The Board acts in an advisory capacity to the School's management and has no decision-making authority. The vision, values and objectives of the School, its curriculum and the overall management of the School remain under the responsibility and direction of the Headteacher.
The Advisory Board provides a valuable forum in which members can act as a sounding board for ideas, offer constructive challenge and provide practical advice and support based on their professional and personal experience. Through this collaborative approach, the Board contributes to the School's strategic direction and its commitment to educational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Members of the Advisory Board are expected to:
- Provide ideas and recommendations that could support and enhance the School.
- Offer constructive challenge and suggest practical solutions where appropriate.
- Support and promote the ethos and values of Adcote School.
- Offer advice and support on matters relating to the School, including strategic, commercial, pastoral, practical and technical matters where appropriate.
- Provide constructive advice and practical support, drawing upon their own knowledge, skills and professional experience.
- Contribute positively to discussions concerning the School's continued development and strategic direction.
Who We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals with a strong business or commercial background who can bring relevant professional experience, strategic thinking and an external perspective to the Advisory Board. Candidates may have experience in areas such as business leadership, finance, strategy, marketing, human resources, law, property or other professional and commercial disciplines.
Experience within education would be desirable but is not essential. More important is an interest in education, a commitment to the values and ethos of Adcote School, sound judgement and a willingness to contribute constructively to the work of the Advisory Board.

The successful candidate will be someone who can draw upon their professional experience to provide informed advice, constructive challenge and practical support while keeping the education, wellbeing and development of our students at the heart of their contribution.
Appointment and Safeguarding
The appointment is expected to commence at the beginning of the Autumn Term, although there is flexibility for the right candidate.
Adcote School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Any appointment will be subject to the satisfactory completion of all required pre-appointment checks, including appropriate background checks and an enhanced DBS check.
