Role Description
The Member Services Officer role is a full-time permanent position, with additional part-time maternity cover responsibilities, based on-site in Glasgow. In this role, you will:
- Support members with day-to-day inquiries
- Process loan and savings applications
- Manage account transactions accurately and securely
- Provide clear information on credit union products and services
- Assist with problem resolution
- Ensure a welcoming and professional experience for all members

The position involves:

- Handling cash
- Maintaining records
- Using banking and customer management systems
- Following regulatory and internal policies
You may also:
- Contribute to member outreach activities
- Support training initiatives for colleagues or new staff
- Help promote services that meet members’ financial needs
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information clearly and interact effectively with diverse members.
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and resolving member issues promptly.
- Basic understanding of Finance, including loans, savings, and account management, with accuracy in handling cash and data.
- Experience or aptitude in Training and supporting colleagues or new team members in procedures and systems.
- Sales skills to responsibly promote credit union products and services aligned with members’ needs and ethical lending practices.
- Attention to detail, numeracy, and competency using computer systems and office software.
- Ability to work on-site in Glasgow, manage a varied workload, and collaborate effectively within a small team.
- Prior experience in financial services, retail banking, or customer-facing roles is beneficial.
- Relevant education or vocational qualifications in finance, business, or customer service are an advantage.
