Most membership directors inherit an established proposition. This individual will create one, take it to market and build the recurring-revenue engine that changes the direction of the business.

This is a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial commercial leader to build a high-value membership proposition around an established brand, an influential senior network and a successful flagship event.

The company

Our client operates at the centre of a European business ecosystem, connecting senior executives, operators, investors, advisers and innovators.

The business has a highly respected annual convention, a trusted brand, strong executive relationships and the backing of a larger international group.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Its next stage of growth is to move from an event-led model to a membership-first, year-round community and intelligence business, with the annual convention at the heart of the member experience.

The role

The Director of Memberships, Communities and Strategic Growth will take direct ownership of the commercial success of the membership business.

This is a hands-on growth role. The successful individual will open doors, win founding members, build a high-quality pipeline and generate significant recurring revenue.

They will spend substantial time with senior customers, understanding their most important business challenges and translating those insights into membership propositions, products, experiences and pricing that customers genuinely value.

They will also build the commercial capability and supporting team required to scale the proposition, while working closely with colleagues across events, content, marketing and technology.

The person

We are looking for an entrepreneurial, client-facing commercial builder who has personally created, sold and grown a membership, community or recurring-revenue proposition.

They will combine senior-level relationship building and consultative selling with the energy and determination to open new doors and convert ideas into revenue.

The successful individual will be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment, moving between product development, customer engagement and hands-on commercial delivery. They will have the credibility to engage senior decision-makers and the leadership ability to build a team around the opportunity.

Experience within membership, executive communities, B2B events, business intelligence or information services would be particularly relevant.
