Membership Events Manager
The British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Membership Events Manager to join our team on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity to take the lead on two of BALI’s flagship national events; the BALI National Landscape Awards and BALI National Conference working with colleagues, members, sponsors, suppliers, speakers, working groups and industry partners to deliver exceptional events for the landscaping profession.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll take ownership of the full event lifecycle, from planning and development through to delivery and post-event evaluation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the planning and delivery of the BALI National Landscape Awards, including venue, logistics, production, judging, sponsorship, ticket sales and guest experience.
- Leading the planning and delivery of the BALI National Conference, including venue sourcing, contract negotiation, programme development, speakers, sponsorship, exhibitors and delegate experience.
- Managing event budgets and monitoring financial and commercial performance.
- Building strong relationships with sponsors, speakers, suppliers, venues, production companies and industry partners.
- Working closely with the BALI marketing team to promote events and maximise engagement.
- Evaluating events and identifying opportunities to improve the member and delegate experience, operational efficiency and commercial value

About you
We’re looking for an experienced events professional who is highly organised, proactive and confident taking ownership of major events. You’ll have experience of:
- Planning and delivering events from concept through to completion
- Managing budgets and commercial targets
- Working with venues, suppliers and external event partners
- Managing multiple deadlines, priorities and stakeholders
- Building strong professional relationships
- Working calmly and effectively under pressure
- Delivering high standards across every aspect of an event
Experience of conferences, awards ceremonies, exhibitions or other large-scale professional events would be desirable. Experience within a membership organisation, professional body, charity, association or similar organisation would also be advantageous

The details
- Salary: £30,000 per annum
- Hours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per week
- Location: Landscape House, Stoneleigh Park
- Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover
- Responsible to: Head of Membership
This appointment is fixed term and is likely to last approximately 12 months. It will cease when the postholder returns to duty or, if they do not return, when a permanent appointment is made to the post.
