Membership Growth Executive
We are seeking a motivated and target-driven individual to join our Membership Team as a Membership Growth Executive. Your focus will be generating new business and expanding Sussex Chamber’s membership across Sussex. This is a dynamic, sales-focused role with excellent opportunities to contribute directly to our growth.
The Role
- Drive new membership growth by identifying, targeting, and converting prospective businesses.
- Research and qualify leads to build a strong pipeline of opportunities.
- Deliver effective recruitment campaigns and sales initiatives.
- Represent Sussex Chamber at business events, exhibitions, and networking forums.
Main Duties
- Qualify and identify sales opportunities to generate leads and increase membership revenue.
- Recruitment of new business members to increase membership in line with targets.
- Provide regular reporting on opportunities, sales and progress.
- Schedule and participate in meetings with prospective members, including virtual, telephone, and face-to-face sessions.
- Collaborate with the Membership, Events, Marketing, and International Trade teams to generate and maximise new opportunities.
- Support initiatives and special projects designed to increase membership and enhance member engagement.
- Undertake administrative tasks to support recruitment activity, updating in-house CRM records.
- Attend exhibitions and events to promote Sussex Chamber and generate leads.
- Carry out any additional duties as required within the scope of the role, as directed by the Head of Membership.

Person Specification
- 1–3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally involving membership services or B2B engagement.
- Sales experience is essential.
- Strong planning, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Resilient, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A hard-working attitude and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
- Experience working in a membership organisation (desirable but not essential).
Key Skills Required
- Excellent communicator in both verbal and written mediums.
- Results- and target-oriented with a strong desire to achieve.
- Research and fact-finding abilities.
- Competent in Office 365, Microsoft Word, Excel, and CRM systems (training provided).
- Attention to detail and strong completer/finisher skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Must be able to deal confidentially at all levels.
- Discretion when handling confidential information.
Additional Information
- Attendance at events and meetings may be required, some outside normal working hours.
- Full clean driving licence required with access to a vehicle.
Office Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Salary: £26,000 per annum (Salary is pro-rata for part-time or for reduced hours)
Hours:
- Full-time
- 37 hours per week (flexible working hours, job share available)
- Our office hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm and Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm. (Flexible working options available within these hours).
