Role purpose

The Membership & Programmes Officer plays a central role in supporting, retaining and growing Social Enterprise NI’s membership community. Membership is the core focus of the role, alongside acting as the key point of contact for programmes that deliver added value to members.

The postholder will ensure members have a positive, engaging and well‐supported experience of Social Enterprise NI, while contributing to sustainable membership growth and strong participation in events, opportunities and programmes.

Membership and Programme Officer

Location: Belfast but with ability to travel. Hybrid option is available

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Reporting to: CEO

Salary: £35,000 - £38,000

Key responsibilities

Membership management (core responsibility)

  • Act as the main point of contact for Social Enterprise NI members, providing a responsive, professional and relationship‐focused service.
  • Manage the full membership lifecycle, including new member onboarding, renewals, lapsed members and exits.
  • Be responsible for membership renewals, and following up on outstanding payments in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date membership records, including payment status, using the organisation’s CRM system.
  • Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with members, developing an understanding of their organisations, challenges and priorities, which can feed into our lobbying purpose.
  • Support both retention of existing members and growth of the membership base, contributing to membership recruitment activity where appropriate.
